Snowdonia has some of the best mountain scrambling in the UK, with routes of varying difficulty in gullies, along ridges, and up mountain faces, generally with short walk ins.

Scrambling involves short sections of easy climbing and some exposure and gets us into some of the most breath-taking, beautiful mountain scenery in the UK.

COST £500

Experience required:

Introduction to Scrambling: Mountain walking experience and a head for heights essential. Rope use is unlikely.

Advanced Scrambling: Some scrambling experience is essential. It is useful to be able to lead belay if you would like to venture onto Grade 2-3 ground, although this can be taught over the course. We will use ropes, harnesses, and helmets.

What will I get from the course?

Before your course, we will discuss what you want to get out of it, so we can tailor the days to suit you.

We would aim to do a route or two each day (and perhaps a summit), building on your previous experience and taking advantage of the weather we get on the weekend.

Options abound, including the North Ridge of Tryfan or Snowdon Horseshoe/Crib Goch (Grade 1), the East Ridge of Y Garn (Grade 2), or Cneifion Arete (Grade 3).
